DLL & OCX

1. I have a compression dll called zlib. How do I use this dll in my project? How do I include this file when I use the installation program/vreation kit?

2. Sure, you can register the OCXfine on your machine... how can you register the ocx so that it works on others machines at installation? Or, does the ocx travel in the executable?

When you go to Project / Components you should see the component or be able to browse for it and register it. You may have to exit and re-enter Components to see it listed after registering. Check the checkbox to include it in your project. That will also cause the PDW to include it when the PDW is run. Most .OCXs are self-registering and the set up will do that for you.

So when you package the application then the ocx used is also packaged in the exe? What I mean is... i'm going to be giving this applciation to a few people and will I also have to install the ocx on their PC's as well if it is to work?

It is packaged in the CAB that is produced by the PDW. Do a PDW on a small project with a Rich Text Box to see what I mean.
