DLINK DI-524 Router RDP connection Issue

I recently installed a DLINK DI-524 Router behind my Adelphia cable modem. I have configured a Virtual Server to remotely access the Terminal Server which is on the IP address of 198.198.198.240... the LAN IP for the DLINK router is 198.198.198.4... The DLINK router is connected to another switch on the network that connects to the terminal server. The DLINK router can ping the Terminal server IP... but when I try and connect remotely via the cable modem IP i can not connect... any suggestions? The terminal server uses a different gateway since it is connected to a T1... Does this matter? Any thoughts or suggestions?

Make sure port 3389 is open and are trying to connect from home?
