I busy out the system. The programming makes sure that no one is on the phone.
I am using the 1st and 5th port on the MLX cards that I have. There is only one other DLC operator on the system.
I cannot add any more DLC operators.
Is there a constraint that I am missing?

Are you saying the system is not allowing you to even ener the extension number?

-OR- are you saying that after you add it, it doesn't take?

You should be able to have two DLC operator positions per MLX module - usually the 1st and 5th port. You have to define them (add them) by extension number as DLC operator positions in system programming.

After you add the extension you have to select store all or they will not take.

I enter the extension press enter and it tells me to go pound sand.
Nope never allows me to enter it.

Then you are doing it wrong. Make sure you are picking an extension on either the 1st or 5th port on an MLX module to covert to a DLC. If you don't - it will not work.

The steps are as follows: system programming, start, operator, positions, direct line, enter the "correct" extension number, press enter, then press "store all". The system will restart and when you inspect operator positions - the added extension(s) will be there.

Nope.
I have done a spot check of my extensions and what pports they are on. 0105, 0201, 0205, 0301 and have found the extensions located on those ports.
I go through the same programming procedure that you explained that is in the Merlin Feature Reference Guide and I get, pound sand.
There must be some restriction that I am missing.

What is pound sand?? I don't recall this. If you are under operator>DLC> and have entered the correct extensions, then press "Store all" Your system will then restart. These are MLX boards, right? You can have up to 8 DLC positions using the 1st and 5th port on the first four MLX style boards.

Are the phones you are trying to make DLC operators - either an MLLX-20L or MLX-28D? If they are not, and they are connected to the ports you are trying to program as DLC operators - it will not work.

Print & Post Extension Directory and let us know what Ext you are trying to use.

That may be part of this.

Sorry, pound sand was just a joke. I meant that it was giving me the wave off signal.
As for the problem, it is the sets.
Thank you tdaugirdas for your assistance.
Yep, in the reference guide too. Sometimes reading manuals on a computer is not better than having them on paper.
Thank you again.
