DL380 G4 with Wide Ultra 3 drives

Hi all,

I want to put some smaller drives (eg 18Gb Wide Ultra 3) in above server to run OS etc.

I know that the RAID 6i can run those drives but I'm sure I've read somewhere that the G4 will doesn't like non-Ultra320 drives. I can't find the article of course. And of course the only drives HP lists as being currently available for the server are the Ultra320 ones.

It was something like the caddy was slightly modified for the Ultra320 drives perhaps.

Any thoughts?

G3 and G4 servers only run U320 disks.

I found the Quick guides for the G3's and G4's and G3's do apparently take Wide Ultra 3. But it was the G4 I was interested in.

Oh well.
