Hi People

I have done all what I have been advised to do but I cant still see the hard drive. I have started the servers from smartstart Kit broken thour to command line but still I cant see the disks. I downloaded the drivers but it requires me to log in as root to run rpm.

What next

John

What version of Linux are your running?

On the Compaq machines they run the Smartarray controllers.

I've installed Slackware & Fedora onto these, Fedora goes on with no modifications and sees the disk array.

Slackware needs you to run the raid.s kernel to support the array (although on slack you have to recompile anyway for smp support).

The disk should show up by typing 'df -m' and will be mounted as /dev/ida/c*d* where the stars are the controller number and the disk array number.

I wish someone would just call me Sir, without adding 'Your making a scene'.
