We have a Deskjet 6127 connected directly to the network. I used the IP on the Network configuration page but I cannot connect to the internal server or ping the printer. I contacted HP and they told me to remove the ink and unplug all the cables to do a hard restart, this didnt solve anything. Do you guys have any ideas?

Thanks,
Alex

Can you print a configuration page ? Does it show any info about network settings ?

I did print the configruation page. It shows all of the settings, I uesed the IP on that page to try to connect. I should also say that the last Sys Admin manually configured it, so I really want it to default back to DHCP.

Try to Telnet to the IP address listed. You may be able to reconfigure the nic.

I tried that already, nothing.

Do you have any sort of link light on the NIC, I am not sure if that model had a link light on it or not.
If you cannot ping the print server at all my first thought is that you either have a network connection problem or possible a bad print server. You might want to see if you have another printer or device you can check on that connection to make sure that it is the printer and not a network connection or switching problem.

Alot of the documentation about this particular printer talks about using the CD to setup the network printing.

The lights are all on. I have to add that it worked the day before, the the network settings changed and I cannot access it anymore. Ive been through the CD and talked to HP, none were any help.
