Using Crystal 10 I have preapared a report that compares actual to budget at a summarized level and the data is displayed from a group footer. For a dollar variance calculation I subtract actual from budget to derive a variance amount which works. When I want to divide the variance amount by the budget amount a divide by zero error occurs. I am using running totals to sum up the detail transactions. There are no zero amounts on the report. If Crystal was looking at the detail transactions then it could find zeros but I am assuming it should be looking at the summarized total that I see on the report and am at a loss to understand why I am receiving this error.

Try showing the figure you are using for the divison. Do a test version of the report, in which you show some of the raw data. It is highly unlikely that Crystal would report a 'division by zero' when there wasn't one. Much more likely that there is something in the data that was not supposed to be there.
