I'm getting a divide by zero in Windows 2000 when trying to start a Foxpro 2.6x application. This application is on a network environment in which I do not have the authorization to update the foxw2600.esl library. Is there way to work around this problem barring the use of any freeware\shareware apps that are designed to trick the program into thinking that you have a slower processor. This is in a bank and all apps have to be approved.

"Frosty",
Not that I'm aware of. As you hint at, it's not the OS, but rather the speed of the system, and the only workable fix, depending on the version of your .ESL, is to use the MS fix for 2.6a, or DZPATCH if it's 2.6.

I guess you'll have to convince whoever authorized buying the new PC that they need to authorize this software update.

Thanks for the response. I was afraid of that, but thanks.. :)

one clumbsy idea that might work is just making the processor busy

at my old company someone made a batch file that would basically do a dos command like DIR repeat itself over and over in an attempt to slow down the machine so it could handle foxpro

Hi,
To avoid the divide by zero error, you need to use foxstart in the path of the icon..works like a charm

This may be a stupid question, but where can I get the DZPATCH? Any help appreciated.
