Sorry if this is a bit basic but I am new to telephone systems.

Is it possible to configure the meridian option 11 so when any one dials a certain if will automatically divert to another number? And how would I go about doing this?

Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks

you can configure a Phantom or an ACD extn

are you familiar with doin this

I am familiar with phantoms phones but I didn't think it would help with this. Should have made myself a clearer.

If a user wants to phone an external pay number for directory enquires I want them all to use the cheapest one availble. But the number is a complex one to remember compared to the higher rate numbers. I have requested users dial the cheaper number but they still dial the easier ones. Therefore if a user dials 1234 1234 I want the call to be diverted to the cheaper option.

Can this be done with phantoms?

Thanks for your response.

Build a digit manipulation table in ld 86 so if they dial one number it goes out as another. Just be sure it doesn't affect any other dialed number.

Hi,

I know you want to divert the phone to another number but it may just be easier to set up a network class of service that will just deny the user access to these particular numbers.

Thanks 1brc - thats the route I will follow.

jonesq - that is the setup we have at the moment but the users do no understand the concept of certain numbers being banned. Thats why I thought about doing it another way.

Thanks for your help. Much appreciated.
