Distribution Lists - BES

My question concerns the Global Filters on the BES. If I add the distribution lists that we have on the global filters list will this forward them to all the blackberry users on the bes or just to those who are in the distribution list as setup on the exchange server.

Short answer: Global filters will be applied to all users listed in the BES.


Long additional comments: You may experience problems if your distribution lists are defined in AD and if you need to have your users access it from the BlackBerry handhelds, as these lists most probably will not be visible in their BlackBerry Address Book.

Also, some users may have a user-defined filter which does not forward messages on which they are not in the TO, CC or BCC fields, so you may have to force that frowarding directly from the server also if you want everyone on the distribution lists to receive the messages on their BlackBerry handhelds..

I forgot to mention this detail about Distribution Lists on the BlackBerry.

Although they are not readily visible in the Address Book, they can still be found using the Lookup feature from that same screen.
