I have a user who has office 2003 installed and Desktop Manager 3.6.1 installed. When he runs BB sync, he gets all the updates contact information but distribution list never gets copied to his blackberry. I have been working with blackberry for a while but never have run in to this issue before or thought about. User is saying they were able to copy distribution list prior to 3.6.1 upgrade? Anyone has a clue?

Now that you mention it here, I took a look at how the BlackBerry syncs up with public contacts lists and noticed that the distribution lists I have here when using the Outlook client do not appear in the BlackBerry handheld.
Current setup is BES 3.6, BDM 3.6 sp2, model 6750 BB on CDMA 1X network.
I'll check with my Exchange expert here, but I think it may just be something that does not get replicated.

I just had a little conversation with the aforementioned Exchange expert, and here's what he thinks.
The distribution lists are simply user groups in Actice Directory which are "mail-enabled", if you will. These groups or lists are not part of the actual contacts folder per se.
Mystery solved.
