Short story: Anyone know of easy way, or inexpensive product, to allow non-admins to manage the gw distribution lists ? Or perhaps a way for end-users to do it themselves ?
I know there is Omni "e-control" but thats $5k.
Long story: My tech team constantly gets badgered about inaccurate distribution lists. Maintaining these lists is resource intensive, and really should be done by the H/R folks because they best know who's been promoted, etc.
I've tried setting up NDS role object that can only modify distribution lists, and then putting the H/R person in that role. Half the time, the changes the H/R person makes do not propagate properly - it looks like the changes are not going across to the second domain, and consequently dont take affect at all. The only changes that get properly applied are the ones the tech admins make.
I probably did not get the security set up properly, but I dont even want to go down that road anymore because Console1 is not easy for non-techs to work with.
If not a "role person", I'd really like to be able to send end-users a periodic report re: what lists they are on and what lists they are not on, so they can decide what they should be on. But the output from the NWADMIN export would need a lot of post-production work to get it in a form that end-users could work with.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
