Distributing software 1

I have recently begun the task of learning about SMS 2003 and it's workings and have come to a bit of a standstill. I cannot get SMS to distribute software in any way. Are there good tutorials for setting up a package in SMS 2003 yet? Could I use tutorials from SMS 2.0 to aide myself in learning how to create a working advertisement?

Sorry for the vagueness, unfortunately I do not know my way around SMS quite yet.
