Distributing Critical Updates with Active Directory...

Is this possible and how would I go about it? I was also told that I could image remote computers using AD. It just seems odd that that would work.

Hii... It is possible to distribute / install critical updates via AD... if only they were in MSI form , in which case you could simply assign it as a group policy object to computer software installation and it will be applied once the system boots up...

In case of exe ... hmm... I'm still tryin to figure this one out

Take a look at Microsoft Software Update Services. I am using it and it works great.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/windowsupdate/sus/default.asp

However, it will only work computers running Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Server 2003.

-Jim, so i take it SUS only works with critical updates and security patches and not with service packs?

-Maverick are you using any special software programs for your method?
