Does anyone have any guidance for setting up distributed voicemail servers using the Linux Application server?

The instructions say that a combination of Windows and Linux servers is allowed, but most of the instructions pertain to Windows machines. It can't be as simple as setting the SMTP Receiver and Sender, can it?

Alternately, does anyone know how to set up a distributed voicemail server on a Windows 7 machine, since the SMTP service is no longer included with desktop OS?

Thanks.

Distributed and Windows 7 cannot be done.
And yes distributed is as simple as it sounds.
It needs SMTP to work.

You need to enter the domain name of the server in to the SMTP field.
The PC name also works by the way.
It is not much different them on a Windows server although i never tried it on Linux machines.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I thought I remember the Avaya guys saying that you can NOT mix operating systems in a distributed setup. They all needed to be the same OS.

why use win 7? its limited to the number of IP connections, just bad news.
