distributed system.app

I have been working on my sole project for some 7 years - up to version 9 now.
I am looking to clean up my distributed files and I find system.app in there. I don't recollect why.
I have searched for this via Code References and find none.

Before I remove this any ideas on why might this be part of a distributed apps files?

System.app is the name of the gdplusx APP, for example. Of course it could be anything.
