I have created a multi-page custom size booklet (4.75 x 6.75) with many photos and charts. All the photos look fine in the actual size view and the print preview but when I print it out some, but not all, of the photos are distorted, mostly too fat or to thin. The photos were submitted from other sources. I am new to this program, taken one formal class and it was mostly basic steps. I don't have a clue what is causing this or how to fix it. Any suggestions? Thank you

Are these photos that are well inside any margins on your page? It could be that your printer margins are causing your photos to be change proportions. Try running Design Checker on your file.

Hi estherb

If your Print Preview is showing a good representation of the page then it sounds like there is an issue between the program and the printer. One possible way around that is to do a test save of the publication as a pdf file (or part of it, such as a page that you have had issues with).
File > Save As > "Save as type" drop down menu > select "PDF" in Publish 2007. For 2003 or earlier you may need to print to pdf with a utility such as PDF Creator which is an excellent freeware program. Print that page. As a pdf is an output file it should 'lock-in' any picture resizing. If that works then prior to printing you would need to save the whole document as a pdf.

It does seem odd that some pictures are affected but not others. It could be worth checking, if it is not too difficult to do so, the original file type of the images that do not print correctly. I am wondering if there is a compatibility issue between that type of file and your output to printer file ? If there is any commonality with the file type of the images that are being distorted in the print output then using some basic image editing software if you have any on-board, you could convert these to a more stable format such as jpeg. Then reinsert the pics into the publication and test print to see if this has resolved your issue.

Good luck with it - Hope this helps.

Thank you both for your your help. I have printed out the posts and I am trouble shooting using each suggestion as a guide.
