I have a customer that would like to have distinctive ring set up for all Inbound DID calls. I assigned Distinctive Ring (DRNG = Yes) in the RDB and just left the rest default. The end user was fine with this until they started having an issue with inbound faxes. I removed the distinctive ring and they were again able to receive faxes. I was told that the inbound ring pattern should be 1 on, 1 off, 1 on, 3 off. 1st question is that ring pattern correct? and would that affect the fax machines? 2nd how do I modify the ring patterns in the PBX?

Thanks

Faxes and modems often won't answer an "odd" ring. Normal ring is 2 seconds on, 4 seconds off. Everything in the US answers that.

You can modify ring patterns in LD56, although I would be talking to the fax machine maker to see if they can tell you how to solve the issue without having to mess with LD56
