By default, the UCx system uses solid ring for internal calls and interrupted ring (short long) for trunk (DID) calls.
You can also configure a specific ring type in a number of places in the configuration using the Alert Info field (e.g., inbound routes, ring groups, queues, follow me).
The value entered in the Alert Info field is the ring style that is to be used (manufacturer/model dependent for SIP, 0-7 for Nortel IP phones, 0-3 for Nortel digital phones). If you have SIP phones, you'll have to look up the supported alert-info strings for your phone(s). Nortel phones can understand alert-info strings used by many SIP phones. If you have just Nortel phones, you can use simply "ring1" or "r1" for the ring style 1, "ring2" or "r2" for ring style 2, etc.).
Perfect. That was easy; just use default ringing for internal/external calls worked. Customer understands the difference between the short-long and the long rings now. Thanks!
