distinct summary

Distinct summary?
I am designing reports for a job
there are more than one
reasons for the job
I want to insert summary(Sum) for the
Amount Fields but since some of the amounts
are repeating themselves due to the reason
It is always giving me
wrong Totals, Please somebody help
P.S I am
using Crystal Reports Version 7 and
it is a drill-down report where totals in header

One potential solution is a running total field to do a Evaluate on change of group.

But they work better in a Footer section, so you might need to move your totals down to there and drill down on the footer rather than a header section. Editor and Publisher of Crystal Clear

could you please explain a bit more how to evaluate.
Sorry i am a new with crystal.
The report is based on sql stored procedure.It may be easier to do in code.
 
It is faster when done by the database, Crystal isn't the fastest database engine...

You'd have to elaborate on this a bit for me to supply a better answer, but perhaps if you selected the MAX of the amount fields as opposed to the sum, you'd get the desired output (that way you get the maximum qty for a job as opposed to the sum of redundant amounts).
