Distiller will naver be a printer option. Depending on your creator app and what version of Acrobat you have you will get one or two print options in the Print window.
One is Postscript File, in which you then have to select a postscript PPD (with me - Acrobat Pro 6 - I select Adobe PDF as the PPD). You then save as a ".PS". You can then use the Create pdf (from file) in the Acrobat or open Distiller, and use the OPen command to create the pdf. You probably also have a an Adobe generic poscript driver to use as a PPD. If it doesn't show up in the printer PPDs, load your installer CD and look through Extras, etc folders on it for a postscript driver.
Again depending on the creator app and your version of Acrobat, you might also see Adobe PDF as the printer. If so You can select that and create the pdf.
Yes, Adobe pulled a switch on you when you moved from 5.0 to 6.0. Instead of being called "Acrobat Distiller", it shows up as "Adobe PDF". It's still using Distiller, though.
