Distiller locking up Photoshop...

I am using WindowsXP with Photoshop 7.0 and Adobe Acrobat 5.05 version.
Everytime I try to print to distiller it locks up, does anyone have any thoughts? I was using the same set up with Windows 98 without a glitch. But when I installed XP I also had to put in a NEW Parallel port... Does anyone have any suggestions?

Are you using FILE->PRINT to print to the Distiller?

If so, does the same hang-up take place if you were to print to any other printer on your system?

Also, can you generate PDFs from other programs without a problem. If you can, I'd try creating a simple graphic in photoshop (single layer) and try to export it as a test. If this works, you may have to flatten the image before exporting to PDF (although it should not be necessary).

I am using the distiller from Photoshop - (File-Print) But since this posting, I uninstalled and reinstalled and everything has been fine.
