Hi Guys,
My brain has just blanked...

Am I correct in assuming that the compression setting in Distiller don't come into play unless the image is above a set DPI.

e.g. if I have my compression set to Zip 300DPI for images above 450DPI.

Then any image above 450DPI will downsample to 300DPI
And any image 450DPI and under will not be affected????

Is this correct?

Also will there be a noticable difference between ZIP compression and Jpeg set to maximum when a 4 Colour 300DPI images is Printed offest (not stakastic screen(random dot))???

Marcus

Yes Marcus, only images above the minimum you set are reduced.

On question 2, I have no idea but, in all the time I've been using Acrobat, or the various exports from Adobe apps, I've never used the zip compression model and have never had any problem from any printer.

Using OSX 10.3.9 on a G4 & G5
