Greetings ~ I have a Nortel 81c networked with several remote sites as well as in-house Rockwell. I'm using 4 digit DID on key-0 (5000) and 5 digit on key-1 (75000). The challenges I now have is the Rockwell has incorporated 7500~7599. I need to have the Nortel users be able to dial the 4 digit 7500~7599 ext's that would go across the Tie's to the Rockwell. Any thought on this would be truly appreciated.

not today, you can use a single or 2 digit steering code. i do not care for that option, user needs to know the location of the phone to call it.. but it's either that or change the non did's to another series or have the rockwell change to a vacant first digit..

Yeah.. what I'm thinking is to change the rollover to 77xxxx. I can run a script to make the modifications to all key-1 settings.

Thanks

scripts are the best tool i have ever worked with.. i can't even consider a change that size with out scripts

Changing everyone to 5 digit ext#s is one option, but if you are running out of 4 digit numbers the better solution is to introduce location codes for the remote sites. IE dial XX (AC2) XXX (location code) then the 4 digit ext# at the far end. (This asumes you only have one Nars access code for local and long distance calling.) Saves a lot of business card changes for the users.
