I'm am having a real problem trying to get the fiber gig interfaces on a dist. sniffer to collect data . The nic shows when it asks you what nic you want to select . Using LX gbics and multimode fiber . The link comes up and the span session on the switch indicates it is passing data down the fiber but the sniffer never sees it . Have checked in hardware manager and all the nics indicate they are working properly . If I switch it over to the fastethernet (copper) nic this works fine but no matter what i try I can't get the fiber to collect properly . Have tried different fibers and gbics to no avail . It has a link but does not collect any data on the gig nic . Any ideas on what to to try or change ? thanks for any help . This is one of the industrial network general hardware sniffers .
