Does the Veritas Disaster Recovery option support bringing back a different server from that which was originally backed up?

See following link

The first bullet says "Manufacturer and Model" and then it goes on to list specific changes in hardware. What does the first bullet imply? That I can bring back a Dell server from a Compaq DR backup and that it will gracefully reconfigure and repair dissimilarities across ALL hardware differences?

Or -

Are they simply taking what ALL Windows 2000 restorations tolerate with regard to hardware changes and claiming it as special dissimilar hardware restoration technology?

Thanks :)

I think it will tolerate some small changes, the same as taking out the HDD and putting it in a new machine.

Veritas has software called Bare Metal Restore which is specifically designed for dissimilar hardware, so I assume this is a limitation in BE, otherwise they wouldn't have another product.
