How can I display the "shapes window/toolbar" on a document? I seem to have it only when I start a new document. However, once I close it I can't seem to get it back. Any tips would be appreciated.
Not quite clear what it is you're missing. If it's a toolbar, use the View Menu and select Toolbars, ticking any that you want to see. If it's the Stencil window, then you can use File Menu, Stencils and select from there.
If it's something else, can you please clarify?

Thanks for your reply. Let me try to clarify ... Whenever a NEW visio document opens up the screen displays two separate windows; the one on the left has templates (Is this the shapes or stemcil window?), objects that are inserted into the grid for drawing which is the right window.
We've created a document and we're trying to add a few new shapes (flowchart) into the dosument. However I cannot seem to get the "Shapes/Stencil Window" to appear along side the diagram. It only appears when I create a new document; once I close it I cannot get it back. I've tried a few setting but nothing works.
I hope that is clearer. Please let me knwo if you need any additional information.
