Displaying Query Criteria On Report

For a database that tracks leases, one of my reports shows active leases. Since leases expire or are sometimes canceled, the query that produces the report prompts the user to enter an "effective date." The report then displays leases that are active as of the date entered by the user.

On the report itself are two date fields; one has a property of =Now () to show the report run date. The other date field is called "Effective Date" and is supposed to equal the date entered by the user.

So far the only way I've been able to get the "Effective Date" on the report is to have the report field prompt the user for the effective date also, just like the query does. But this requires the user to enter that date twice.

My question is, how can the "Effective Date" entered by the user for the query be transferred to a date field on the report so the user doesn't have to enter that date twice?

Thanks in advance for the help,
Kerry

Make the control source of the textbox:

=[Effective Date]

Then the entry they make for the query will flow down to the report.

Thanks Joe....worked like a charm!
I should've known it was simple.

Thanks again,
