Hi,

I am looking for a way to display the current user of a spreadsheet in one of the spreadsheet's cells. I have seen some code and I think I understand where to put the code. What I am not sure about is what goes in the cell to have the name appear??? I can get buy with some of this but alot of the posts are for people more advanced. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank You

Amy

Amy: You'll need to use VBA (a macro) to do this.

You said you've found some code but don't know what to do with it.... Check out faq707-5758.

If you still have questions, please start a new thread in forum707. Include any code you've already found.

[= Environ("UserName")]
At least that's what I use. The code needs to be set up to set a cell to that value. This will place the user name in the cell. I used it to track access to a specific spreadsheet range. Then I hid the column that held the concatenated values. Instant audit on who accessed the spreadsheet.
