Hi Guys/Gals,

I have a Nortel Meridian system connected to multiflex trunk interface card on cisco h323 gateway. Its running Qsig, I have another connection to another cisco gateway for wifi and I have 2 call manager clusters. (One is for IP Telephony the other is for the WIFI network).

Wifi connection is Q931 and when I call from a phone on one call manager to the other I see the name of the person calling as well as their extension on the phone display.

Question is how can I pass the display from Meridian to cisco and vice versa? Do I need to move Qsig to Q931? Is there a way I can cheat the system to get this functional?

At present if I call from Meridian extension 2555 on the cisco phones it will say call from 2555 etc.

Thanks in advance!

Also when I call from Cisco Phone to Cisco WIFI Phone I see the name in the display_info field within the voip ccapi inout debug output.

E.g.

callingNumber=3677, calledNumber=4555, redirectNumber
= display_info=Stewart McFarlane

If calling from Meridian the information would look like this:

callingNumber=2555, calledNumber=4555, redirectNumber
= display_info=

I can't believe that out of everyone on the net that comes to this forum, not one single person has any input at all.

I thought this thing works out the box??? Any suggestions would be great. In addition the WIFI network is also IPT based, the two clusters are linked together using Q931 and I am using a Spectralink WIFI Phone.

Configure the gateway as MGCP and not H323. this should solve your problem.

I am using an option 61, running version 25 and I have tried to convert Qsig to Q931 but am getting the error code: SCH6357.

Interface change is not allowed for UIPE D-channels.

Any help would ge appreciated!

What version of callmanager? Only the newer releases support Q.SIG

I would check the ND1,2 on the D channel on the Meridian. I have CM working with Meridian 25.4 via a Mitel SX2000 as a tandem PABX. The Meridan is configured as ISO. There are some S/W patch on the Meridian which may need to be installed I will try the find them but first check the D-Channel in LD 21 ADAN
