Displaying multiple colored text in a textarea

TextArea doesn't not support this. I believe that JTextArea does support html tags and with them you could use the color tags to specify colors for different lines. The tag that you would use is:
<font color = blue>this text will be blue</font>
[sig]<p>Troy Williams B.Eng.<br><a href=mailto:fenris@hotmail.com>fenris@hotmail.com</a><br><a href= > </a><br> [/sig]
<font color = blue>this text will be blue</font>
