I'm running Windows 2000 and Lotus Notes 5.05 (both English versions) in a Japanese company. I've managed to set up Windows/Notes for Japanese input/output via the IME and relevant fonts. Everything seems to work apart from the following:

Although I've set the various default fonts in Notes to Unicode fonts some of the mails I receive from my Japanese colleagues display only dots - it appears that the fonts I have include MS Gothic etc and they have exactly the same but the names are the Japanese equivalents, ie ‚l‚rƒSƒcƒbƒN (Japanese Shift JIS encoding)

How do I tell Notes that MS Gothic and ‚l‚rƒSƒcƒbƒNare the same thing? I tried copying the fonts from a Japanese machine onto my PC but the font file appears to be identical to mine.

Hi,
Have you figured out a solution to this issue? I have a user who is in the same predicament.

Thanks!
