Hello,

I am a novice at HTML and have the following statement on a page:

<p><font face=&quot;Comic Sans MS&quot; color=&quot;#0000FF&quot;><big>    <a
href=&quot;file://ServerName/D2UVolD/ProductDevelopmentWeb/status_archive&quot;>Status Reports Archive</a></big></font></p>

which displays a directory of files so the user can select copies of old status/statistic reports if they wish.

The problem is it displays in Large-Icon view and I'd like to force it to come up in Details view. Can someone please tell me the proper way to do this?

Thanks very much!

I think this is going to be a machine-dependent problem, ie; my PC is set for Detail View but my wife's PC is set for Icon View. Also, your HREF request is for your local machine and will probably be different if it were on a Unix-type server. There's always a better way...

Possibly, but the //ServerName is available to everyone who can see this page (actually it's on that same server).

The defaults on MY PC are for Detail View and yet I get Icon View when I click on this link. I'll check the target server but it sure seems like there should be a way to force the kind of view I want.

The server is an NT box, and everyone who accesses it is some flavor of Win NT/2000/XP whatever.

Cheers,
ChickenHawk

Have you considered putting an FTP server on //servername?
