Hello VFP community!

I'm moving an old FoxPro 2.0 DOS application into VFP 5.0. Most things are okay, but graphical characters like 'double-line' come out as something else. I've been researching Code Pages but with no success yet. I 've got the DBF files working just fine, but the graphics SEEM to come from the Windows Code Page and need them to come from the DOS Code Page. Tried a setting of the CPCOMPILE function to bring out the DOS graphical characters but with no success.

Have used 'double-line' borders around menus, etc. and VFP 5.0 seems to have other ideas. Please help!

Thank you.

VFP 5.0? Really?

What you really want is to use the right font. (Try Courier.) It doesn't have anything to do with code pages.

But you should really just stop doing that. We haven't used line draw characters since 1991.

Regardless of which version of VFP you use, those old line-drawing characters are completely out of place in a Windows environment, especially in menus. If you really must have a border, there are other ways of drawing it. But it's better to do things the Windows way rather than trying to mimic the look of an old DOS app.

Dan and Mike,
Thanks for your responses. I completely agree with you both. I need to redo the menus 'Windows-style'. It took a while but I came to the same conclusion. Hearing from you both locks it all in. Again, many thanks.
