red hat 9.0=when i create a link to a directory, i click on the link it displays the contents of the directory, i can then view or download files.this is what i want

mandrake 9.0= same setup but "page cannot be displayed"
i've checked the permissions they are the same as on the redhat 9.0 box

is this an apache problem?
what do i need to changed to be able to display directory contents?

thanks for the quick response, unfortunately it did not work.
i matched the settings from the redhat box to the mandrake box. still nothing. i cant even directly access it.
?? i though maybe it a something in the version of apache im using.

i'll give a little more info.

the server response is fine to all request except for directory request. normally on the red hat box. i would request a directory. doing it this way makes it easier to update frequently. adding and removing files alot. so, i though by requesting the directory and using a good naming convention for the files i would not have to change the links to these files all the time. i would instead click a link to the directory and all is displayed even sub-directories.

it is just when i do this on the mandrake 9.0 box that the request isnt granted.\i though maybe it was an apache thing.
i would leave it all on the redhat box but i have been having problems on that box. the server will quit granting access to any network request ssh httpd anything.
strange though, when i restart httpd service everything ele works, for a while a short while.
