displaying date certain number of days before another

Hello,

Im trying to to come up with a formula which based off a parameter field which is selected called Sales Trip Date comes up with a range 6 months prior to that date based of another date field(the pickup date), so the user selects the sales trip date, ex. 11/18/2010, what I want is to have a formula calculating for the date range of 6/18/2010-11/18/2010(i.e 6 months prior) for the pickup date

With this formula I'd then have to display certain records for that range.

USe DateDiff, use HELP to get its details. It can be used for a number of months, among other things.
