I am new to interdev so I thought I would try out an example project , everything seems ok until I try to view the web pages with the data bound controls which do not show any data.

I have set up the data environment and data command up OK. I can even see the tables in the Data view window and edit the tables in the SQL database. I have set up a quick test page where I dragged the command object to the html page and it creates a recordset object. I then drag a few fields from the project explorer window so that I can view just the first records from that recordset in a web browser.

I have checked that the data source for the recordset returns several records in the SQL query builder. I checked that SQL server was running and even made sure that all the microsoft backoffice components have been installed on the server .

If anyone could shine any light on this problem I would be grateful.

               Regards

               Steve Walsh

Dear Steve,

This will be tough without seeing anything. I would initially suspect the properties of your databound controls are not set up correctly. If you right click a control in design view you can select the option to view the code then you could copy and paste the code into a post here, maybe that will help.

-pete

Hello Pete

Thanks for the suggestion. However if I right click on any of the data bound controls there is no option for viewing any code associated with it. Only the 'properties' (which they are pointing at the right recordset) ,'view in browser' or 'edit script'. I am a new to it so perhaps there is another view that I should be looking at.

Once again thanks for the pointer.

        Regards

        Steve Walsh
Stephen...I just posted this exact problem before reading your thread. I was using the example in the VID Programmer's Guide and getting your results. Noticed that no one but 'palbano' had any ideas. I too do not have those "code" options he referred to. Have you any further luck?
