Hello there.

using CR/CE8.5 and having several recurringly scheduled reports we'd like to know if it is possible to access (i.e. view - NOT execute) a report's last instance by unsing a hyperlink/URL command.

We came across a crystal document called 'URL commands for the Web Component Server' and managed to create a URL (containing viewrpt.cwr) that automatically handles the login and shows the report specified by the parameter 'ID' but it seems to run the report before displaying the result instead of showing the last instance.

Leafing through ePortfolio's csp-pages, we figured out that it unfortunately looks like it is neccessary to have a csp-page to handle the instance selection :-(

But perhaps there's somebody out there who can provide us an easier solution (without csp) ?

Regards,
Frank

Hi,
to dynamically select the last instance, csp is needed to query the CI_INFOOBJECTS container.
Each instance does have a unique ID, so if you knew what it was you could use it in the URL, but that would mean obtaining it (manually, from the CMC for instance) each time the instance is run...

I have downloaded the get_instance-example from the knowledge base and managed to get it working on our server.
Alas, it sems that I'm only able to display instances that have been created in the .rpt-format. If the last instance is e.g. acrobat (pdf) I get an error message telling me that the page server does not support this type of instance(pdf).

As you can guess, I'm quite desparate and as I neither know enough about all this JavaScript- and VBScript-stuff nor got enough time to develop a profound knowledge of the ce-sdk, I'd really appreciate if somebody has a snippet of code for me to do this trick.

Thanks in advance
