Hi,

I am wandering whether it is possible to enter a formula into a cell that checks for a certian criteria and then display a message Box on the screen

IF(C5 = "",MsgBox "Please enter data in Cell C5")

instead of validating the cell by going to Data and selecting Validation the normal way.

Nope - no formula / function within a worksheet can affect ANYTHING other than the cell it is in

The only way to do this would be by using a worksheet EVENT
