Displaying a customized list in a datagrid

Hi all,

I've been asked to display get all totals from various columns and display them in a datagrid in MOSS 2007. Can anyone make any suggestions as to how to approach this task.

I guess what I would like to do is calculate the #'s I will be needing to report and drop them into a dataview to display in Sharepoint...
