Display update date of a different file in excel.

I am looking to display the update dates of several different excel files in one workbook. For example, I would like to display the date of
books1.xls
tools.xls
jobs.xls
all in excel file master.xls.

A B
book1 05/02/09 12:23:05
tools 05/01/09 11:35:45
jobs 05/15/09 14:52:54

I would like to do this so that I can do some filtering of data based off of when it was last updated. I have seen code for doing it on the file you are in, but not on a different file.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You are going to need some VBA for this. How are you at VBA? Can you repost in the forum forum707 remembering to mention what version of Excel you are using?
