Display Problem

I have just done a major upgrade on my computer 4200 Athlon 64 Dual core with Asus A8N-SLI premium motherboard.PCI express Nvida 6800 GS graphics card.2 gig of 3200 ram and the problem that I am having is when I boot up first thing I get mad lines across the screen on the black bois screens I have to power off then reboot and every thing is fine. I have updated my bios to try and solve this problem but still the same.

Sounds like your display is bad. It will start out with a on/off thing, and get progressively worse. Or it could be a loose cable
