Hello Everybody ,

I have a problem on one our RS6000.Display on this RS6000 goes off intermitently. When a user logoff from the workstation display will be blank instead of giving the login screen. And some times it will go to suspended mode and the display will not come at all. The monitor screen will be blank. But all other functions will be working. So I do telnet into the workstation and reboot the workstation to get display in both the cases.

I have enough free space in all the filesystems.

Unix Version AIX 4.3

If anyone come across this problem and know any solution for this problem pls help.

Thanks & regards,

Hi,

Just now I have checked the power management settings on two of the RS6000 systems.Settings are similar on both the systems where as the problem is coming on one particular RS6000.Pls help...

Thanks & Regards.

Do check the monitor cable. Is it the 13W3 or any other format ? It could be the fault of the cable.

Try exchanging the cable with another one, and see if it happens.

Check your graphics adapter.

Cheers.

Try swapping the monitor with another known good monitor. This will narrow down the problem as to whether it's a problem with the monitor or not.

I have checked again the display power management it is ON.
I have disabled it now. I will monitor this now as this is intermittent problem. Thank you all for the help.

Thanks & Regards.
