Display Problem in Windows XP

When I exit applicaitons in Windows XP, pieces of the window remain on the screen. The peices of the windows that remain on the screen stay on top of new application windows that I open. I don't have any idea what could be causing this, and I don't even know how to phrase this question correctly to try a Google search on it. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

Almost 89% certain this is a display driver issue. Try updating your video adapter drivers.
