Is there a way to have a report show a picture based on a specific Part id. So if one Part id is on the report one picture is shown, if another Part id is on the report then a different picture is shown.
Thank you in advance.

If it is an independent file, insert the picture into the report, then right click and choose Format Picture, click on the the Picture tab, click on the x+2 next to Graphic Location and type in the location of your picture. to make the picture dynamic I would type something like:

"P:\Files for Reports\Pictures\"&{PART.ID1}&".jpg"

now for each part it will display the image from that directory which corresponds to the part's ID1.

That was perfect, the dynamic is just what I needed. Thank you!

Hi,
So your picture is NOT in a database record like you stated in your post? [ponder]

The pictures will reside on a server. I don't believe I mentioned database, just the need to show a picture base on a part id and have the picture be for that part.

OH, very sorry if I mislead. My thought was on the server akd database. Even though I understand they are not the same.

Hi,
no problem..Its just that those headings are what may determine if someone reads it to see if thay can help..

I was able to just get to trying this out and have 1 question. I do need to have this picture be dynamic, I tried inserting a picture and typing in the path, but the same picture always prints.

So I must not insert a picture but insert something else, right?
