Display PDF filesize

I wonder if there is a way to have the web browser display the filesize of a pdf file that I have a link set to.

On one of the webs I support, another user sends a monthly newsletter to the server via FTP. I just have a link to that file, and he always replaces the orignal pdf file.

I would like the end user to be able to see how big the file is before they click on my link. I assume this must be done in Javascript of something other than HTML.
