I feel like a tool having to post this question as Im sure its a simple matter but just cant find where I need to change the setting. I am running access 2003 in access 2000 mode. I have a report with two controls, one format is set to fixed with two decimals and the other is currency with 2 decimals. the negative numbers are being displayed as bracketed numbers. I have my regional settings under control panel that negative numbers should be displayed as value with negative (minus) symbol infront but in this access database they are still being displayed as bracketed amounts. I also have NumberShapes set to system. any ideas as to where they have hidden the setting to change how negative numbers are bieng displayed?

any help would be appreciated
