We are using Microsoft SQL Server 2000.

We installed a default instance and a named instance.(The named instance will be used to test database restores.).

How can we display the named instance in Enterprise Manager?(We thought there would be a separate set of System and User Databases for the named instance. It seems like we only see the first default instance in Enterprise Manager.).

Thanks for your help.

In Enterprise Manger...

Drill down to "SQL Server Group".
Click on it to highlight it.
On the menu bar, click Action -> New SQL Server Registration
Run through the wizard.

At the end of this process, you should have 2 servers listed.

To confirm the install look for a folder like MSSQL$InstanceName in your default install path.

Follow the steps like George suggested. you should end up with an entry like this in EM
Servername\Instancename

That worked. We went to Ent. Manager > SQL Server Group > New SQL Server Registration. We can see the default instance and the named instance. Thanks.
