I provide telephone service for a Tenant on a CS1K. W changed locations and he moved with us to the new address. I was originally told, by Ver!@#$ that his numbers could not move with us to the new address and the only way to get his number there was to remote call forward the number. FINE. Telco RCF'd his number to one of my DID's...that works. Now when he makes a call the caller ID shows my DID..I had the vendor program his extension to display his existing RFC’d number so my DID will not display. That works Too. The problem is I need to display the NAME and telephone NUMBER and wanted to know if that was possible.

Thanks

I did add the number and thats displays, but the incorrect name is displayed. I called telco and was told "this number is only RCF'd and does not terminate at the customer site" so the name designation can not be changed. Where can I go from here ??

Thx

Escalate within the carrier. Keep pushing until you find someone who will change LIDB for you. I know of no regulations that prohibit sending a RCF number out as Caller ID, so LIDB should be able to be changed to reflect the name you are after.

this number is only RCF'd and does not terminate at the customer site

and that is mis-stated.. you are providing answer supervision for that number. i can't have a vacant number in a remote office and give that as my main via name display. that was a fraud block.. as long as you pay the bill and provide answer supervision the provider can name the line.. call the public utilities commision in your state. a little gov help for all those taxes we pay

The answer is local number portability.
Verizon won't port the old number?

Yes but that is after the fact... and we are up and working at the new location. That means the customer would be down while the number is being ported. NOT an option. Customer has been through Verizon HELL
