display message if the report takes few mins to generate data

Hi,

I have a report which takes 2mins to run. Is there any way I can display a message "please wait the report is generating" so that user can wait until they see data. Can I use alert?

Well this would depend on how the report is being generated and the version of the software.

If you have a front end you can obviously do so.

Within Crystal, no, however it does give a record count as it's processing once they start coming in.

Sure.
Please search for rptviewer.csp file and open that.
Go to the body section of the CSP page and type what ever the message you want to display and save that. Now view any report in Crystal Enterprise you will see that message and the message will disappear as soon as you can see the data.

You can obviously use CSP to do so, I thought that you wanted something inside the Crystal Viewer.
